Hello enfield, maann, tiger/ experts,
I have some few questions regarding university master’s program:
1. As many of the universities in Canada provide one year M.Eng program like computers science, computer networks, will I get 3 years PGWP for these M.Eng, if not what is the case instead or should I extend the course for one more semester in order to apply PGWP.
2. If this going to be a risk, then should I move for the PG certificate programs in colleges like Humber, Seneca, centennial, etc. as they provide 2 years programs.
3. What is the job scope for an M.Eng/ PG course student, could I survive in Canadian market.
4. Please mention some good universities according to my below profile which suits me and I get gunshot admission:
a) 10th class-83.4% (2002)
b) Inter-87.9% (2004)
c) BTech-69.00% (2008)
d) From 2009 May to present working as IT technical recruiter for the international process which is not closely related to my academic (but some part).
Please provide me your valuable information, which could help me a lot to my admission and visa process.

Hi,

1. By rules, you will get a 3 year PGWP if you complete a 1 year Master degree + 1 year PG Certificate/Diploma. It's of no use to extend your semester for PGWP.
2. Your profile is "strong". You should focus more on a Master degree (still you have a good chance with a PG Diploma). It's of no guarantee to have a 3 year PGWP for a 2 year PG Certificate course. www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/i-studied-for-2-years-still-got-1-year-work-permit-t84571.0.html
3. Read/search Rhasan's Post for M.Eng admission process. He is the best one.
4. It would be much better if you;
-secure admission for a Master degree.
-submit "self" ITR/Form 16 with your visa application.
-work experience letter (not required under 'General-University' category)
-a certified bank loan.

Re: Few questions regarding university master's program:

Hello Enfield,

Thanks for your points and suggestions.
But here my case is
1. masters programs are usually 1 year program, so then i how could i get 3 years PGWP.
2. From your earlier posts, it is clear that 2 year study(pg OR diploma) program=3 year PGWP
3. Actually i was bit confused with your first point."you will get a 3 year PGWP if you complete a 1 year Master degree + 1 year PG Certificate/Diploma."

Thanks for your help in advance..

Hi,

1. You won't be confused after reading 'Example 1 and 2' under 'Revised Program Criteria' www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob194A.asp
