Okay, so I'm pretty sure I've asked this question before but I honestly can't remember and just want to be sure. Maybe this time I'll write it down so I remember lol.... but after you have been approved as a permanent resident, and you have already paid the $1,040 fee for sponsorship and rights to permanent residency, are there fees for when you land? I will not be importing any large items like furniture or anything like that, just bringing all of my cosmetology stuff and personal belongings (clothes, makeup etc.) and I will of course be bringing my little kitten : ) So basically what I want to know is, with all of what I'm bringing including the cat, how much money should I have on me if anything at all? And if I don't bring enough and pay the fee's right when I land if there is any, do I have the option of being billed and paying it at a later date?

In general there are no fees for landing process.

Sounds like you are bringing in just simple personal items, so probably no need for the customs forms. You would only need if you had very expensive things or were shipping big items separately.

For your cat, make sure to have all the necessary vet information, like its had rabies shots and stuff like that.

I think there might be a fee for the cat. In fact they might keep the cat there for 48 hours depending on what certification (Rabies shots) you have. There is no way they will "bill you later" you will have to pay it up front, unless they keep the cat there for 48 hours, then you can pay when you pick her up. Just be sure she has her rabies shot, and proof and I think you should be okay!

Regarding the cat, see more info here. I assume you are coming from USA which should be a "rabies free" country. The cat does not need to be quarantined.

There actually are fees for this. http://inspection.gc.ca/english/anima/imp/petani/feefrae.shtml

Basic cost is $30 + tax.

Note also if you're driving across the border, sometimes the immigration officers don't even bother with the animal inspection and just wave you through with the pet. But be prepared to pay just in case.
