For some reason, my wife and son is not coming with me to Canada. I understand they still need to be included in the application (i.e. information, signatures, birth certificates, medical exams etc).

With regards to fees, in addition to myself, still need to pay the required processing fee for wife and son. But for RPRF only for myself. Is that correct?

Thanks for your feedback.

Will they be coming in the future? If yes, then pay for all of them right now. If you do not want to sponsor their PR, then they will not be allowed in the future to apply for PR based on your status.

Family situations may improve. Yes, they may come in the future. So to anticipate that situation and keep opportunities door opened for my son, Its better to pay the whole, processing and RPRF alike for the family.

Thanks a lot.

You don't have to pay for dependent children if you are the principal applicant:

cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp#rprf

Only for RPRF; there are application fees for minors.
