Is it even Legal that some Consultants, especially in Dubai who charge people 10-20, 000 dirhams for a job offer/LMO in Canada. I do not think this is legal. Any thoughts? my question would be what fee is this for? Ridiculous. Corrupted Consultants.

The LMO used to be free. It's no longer free. I believe the fee is now $275.prasprime said:Hi Sept15, The fact is LMO is free, but some consultancies are making the people to pay for it for Higher money. This is absolutely *censored word* happening.
that is not what the Consultants are charging... We are talking about at least 20 X times $ 275. It is becoming a business out there. Not good.scylla said:The LMO used to be free. It's no longer free. I believe the fee is now $275.
1. Since it is against the law in Canada for a consultant to charge an employee for finding a job, it is unlikely the consultants are registered under Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council.canadavisa13 said:Hi sept15,
its just fair that a consultant will get paid for the job he/she will get done for you,how can you expect him to find you a job and do all the paper work on your behalf for free?
for god sake you should know that the consultant has fees to be paid otherwise why would he/she open a firm?
as long as its a legitimate consultant that is recognized/licensed and has a registration number from the canadian government then you shouldn't worry at all otherwise its a scam and you will be dashing your money for nothing.
if you don't want to pay for a consultant then start looking for employers online but remember its really hard to secure a job in canada though a work permit from abroad and the LMO is really really hard now a days, the canadian government became very strict with hiring temporary foreign workers due to the outsourcing of the canadian jobs and there are plenty of complaints about employers bringing cheap workers from abroad when there is enough qualified canadians and permanent residents.
you should consider applying for permanent residence if you qualify, work permit isn't a great idea.
good luck

Their fees vary. But consultants cannot guarantee results of the application but rather just help you on your application.Blueveia said:I heard some consultants charge you 3000 dollars and get you PR status + job offer.
