Hi All

I have a hard time deciding if I start the process through Quebec and get the Certificate of Selection as province nominee OR start the process by applying as a federal skilled worker . I understand that after getting the COS from Quebec then I'll complete the process with CIC anyway but I want to know the pros and cons of each route

Thanks

It's very simple. If you want to live in Quebec, apply for Quebec. If you want to live somewhere else, apply for FSW.

Difference in requirements, processing. You can see the time it takes to process the QSW in different countries at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/02b-skilled-que.asp but you can't really see that for FSW right now because they just changed the rules and there is no experience yet in how long the new one takes. They are aiming at 6-12 months but who knows.

I looked at cic web site and it has the following statement

"New: All applicants in the Federal Skilled Worker Class, must submit their initial application to the Centralized Intake Office in Canada as of April 1, 2009."

Does this mean I can not submit my application at the current time ? How long should I wait ?

Thanks

Huh? Don't they mean they are changing the location where you have to send it? I think that is what it is. All applications after April 1st need to go to that office. You do not have to wait.
