i have just received a letter from cic, i was asked to update my history and Police Certificate.

i will spend how many days to get ppr if i send them to cic?

I'm not sure what this means, but I just got this email with a message today: "This refers to your application for Permanent Residence in Canada. In order for us to finalize your application, we require the following:
For ........... (only one of my kids)
A copy of your updated passport showing a validity of more than six months
Please submit the requested documents as scanned attachments within ten days of this letter and send to the following e-mail address:..."


My kid's passport was expired, so we got a new one recently... about to send the copy now, but I`m not sure how to take this request since I have to send this within 10 days. How long they normally give people who are finalized to send in their passport? I don`t want t get excited for nothing.

Note: I'm not from visa exempt country but I`m inland applicant.

Maybe because the copy they have expired and they need a valid passport
Now the fact that they want it in 10 days may be a good sign

Do you mean photocopy or scanned copy? Can you send it by email?

It was a scanned copy to be sent by email. I think it's because I renewed my passport (old one was expiring in April) and forgot to update them with the new one. Might have had COPR if I'd remembered. Oops.

Hello,

So i got the PPR and sent the passport to ottawa and they sent it back to me on march 5th, it reached montreal on march 6th and still didn't receive it yet, i used xpresspost. I called canada post and they told me they are investigating about my passport.

Now they are saying that it is not lost yet but they are trying to locate it

My question is if they lost it what can i do ? Can ottawa issue a new visa if i apply for a new passport ? please help

Well yeah for sure. I doubt it is lost though but if it doesn't turn up and it's really lost, I would just contact CPP-ottawa by email explaining the situation. I'm sure it's not the first time that happened.
