Hi All,

Please help to determine the better alternative of the 2.

Federal Skilled Worker
According to the eligibility criteria, your application is eligible for processing if:

you have an offer of arranged employment, OR
you are a foreign national who has been living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student, OR
you are a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the occupations listed here.

Canadian Experience Class
Education is only assessed if you are applying as a graduate of a Canadian post-secondary educational institution.

If you want to apply based on your Canadian credentials, you must complete either:

1. a full-time Canadian post-secondary educational program of at least two years or
2. a one-year Master’s program (certificates and diplomas cannot be counted) and an additional year of education, obtained in Canada, before admission into the one-year program (for a total of two years).

Among the above 2 options, FSW option needs living in Canada for only one year as an international Student but according to CEC, they need 2 yrs education. In other posts i also read that one needs 1 yr of work exp in addition to the 2 yrs of post secondary education. Please confirm.
Please advise which way to go ?

Can't say which is 'better' without knowing your situation.

For FSW Cat 3, in addition to 1 yr in Canada, you do need to have at least 1 year of work experience in a skilled occupation (not necessarily in Canada).

For CEC after 2 years of education you need to have 1 yr of skilled employment experience in Canada.

For FSW Cat-3, you need to show proof of settlement funds. For CEC you do not.
