Federal Skilled Worker - H1

Hello,

I want to apply under Federal Skilled Worker category and I am working in the United States on H1B Visa.

Can anyone please point me on how to start? I spoke to one consultant who is charging USD 1600.00 (looks like just to fill the forms). I have downloaded the forms but my questions are:

1. How long will the FSW process takes if I am on H1B in US?
2. How much funds are required?
3. Is there any other better option available? I recently got denied from AINP as they changed the rules recently.

I will appreciate any help that anyone can provide.

1. No difference in timeline ... if u applied from buffalo then would be 1 year and if from ND( I mean if your from india) then little less than a year.
2. You can check CIC web site for funds .. dont know exact amount.
3. No option , see if u can get temp for visa for canada( if u wanna move right now ... and give up ur H1)

BTW, u can only apply for FSW if you come under 0213 (managers or leads) code ... assuming ur a comp person on H1.

Thanks for your reply Simon. I have some further questions:

Accordingly to 0213 NOC (Computer Systems Managers), following is the the job description. My question is that:

1. I have 13 years of experience in IT and I have performed the below mentioned duties. However, since I always wanted a technical work experience certificate (which is what we require to hunt for a job), my experience letters have no mention of these duties. What can I do?

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP) departments and companies
Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
Meet with clients to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
Assemble and manage teams of information systems personnel to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems
Control the budget and expenditures of the department, company or project
Recruit and supervise computer analysts, engineers, programmers, technicians and other personnel and oversee their professional development and training.

I know there is a confusion between duties .. I am also on H1 and I do perform all these duties .. while i am on client site ... but what they are looking for is a Lead kind of or a IT manager . If your a lead and can a letter from your current comapny saying that ur a lead and perform all 0213 duties .. then u should be fine!

The problem is that the while you are on client site, employer has no clue of what duties you are performing. Also, the fact that the experience letter will be given by the HR department and they have no clue what I am doing at the client site.

Thanks for replying to my query. Most of my experience certificates have titles listed on them. They do not have job description. Does that mean that I can write what I need to write in the forms?
