Hi Everybody

I want to apply for my PR under the Federal Skilled worker and have some questions regarding the same which are given below. Any help is appreciated.

I have two years diploma (from Canada) after 12th grade and I worked in India as a computer technician for about an year (but didn't write it when i applied for my student visa) and I have one year co-op experience in Canada as a Technical Support Agent (NOC 2282 Skill level B). I have 7.5 band in IELTS in all the modules. I have been in Canada for almost 2.5 years and currently looking for a new job and on PGWP.

My question is can I apply for FSW ? The reason why I have this question is because when I take the self-assessment test at CIC, I get 71 points for my assessment with two years diploma, 7.5 bands in IELTS, 21-49 years of age, no arranged employment, no spouse, worked for 1 to 2 years, worked for atleast an year in Canada.

A friend of mine applied under the same conditions just with more co-op experience a long time ago. I wanted to know can I apply given my circumstances currently or is there any change in the rule?

I doubt it with the information you have provided. try canadian experience class

dbss, you are forgetting an important point. only 4 categories can apply. 1. 29 job list, 2. AEO, 3. CEC, 4. PhD. for your noc, its not 1, you said no AEO so not 2. You said diploma and not phd, so not 4. The only other option left is 3, as dnyfyn rightly said!

Thanks guys!!!!!!

I appreciate the help.... I guess my friend got in luck....he got it without the AEO.....

I have a big doubt... I score 61 points in self assessment test and prepared all the necessary documents to apply on July, 01, 2012, paid the fees, 0611 NOC

Do you think I should apply...??... would be very thankful if you could help me

If you score only 61 points even after the new rules (if there are any) on 1st July, CIC will fail you. They would probably fail you even with 66 points. There was a time when those on 65/66 may be considered, but no more.

You will just have to reassess yourself on 1st July - it's expected there may be some changes to the points matrix, maybe these will work in your favour as they may grant more points for language and put less emphasis on years of study.

Nobody has any idea what occupations will be on the FSW1 list, whether it will remain the same or if it will change. However, the previous list was around for about 2 years, and this list has been active since 26th June 2010, so if I were a betting man, I would say the likelyhood is there will be a new list. 0611 may or may not be on it.

Im really concerned about this man.... dunno what to do..... :(
