My husband just got a response from CIC according to the email he sent.
He asked what is the status of the application, and the answer is "Please be advised that your application was received on July 4, 2014 and is currently awaiting review by an officer. Notification will be sent in due course."
No wonder we still haven't got AOR! Still waiting to review after 4 month!! I want to beat their butt with whip and tell them hurry up!!! LOL

Minimee,

Thank you for your update.
It is frustrating that our route is much slower than other routes but your husband received kind of positive news.
you made me laugh by beating their butts with a whip:))

Fniazi4u,

the good news for your friends is that s/he received a positive assessment. I used to communicate with them via e-mails and they responded pretty quickly.
Unfortunately, there is no alternative to CoQ. Either s/he has CoQ or work permit with LMIA.
I suggest him/her to fly and take the test. Each journeyperson must have the CoQ to be able to work in any regulated trade and make big .
good luck

hi NP & Minimee,

Once again thanks to both of u for ur frank and positive advises. Yesterday I met my consultant and again she advised me to attempt for Red Seal Certification but my only worry is the expense I have to bare for it. Also I have to resign my current job to come to Canada and give the examination. Let's see what happens next as I am seriously thinking about attempting Red Seal.

@NP - u r right that I haven't done extensive research and did everything as I was told by my consultant. Actually I am trying in this category since it opened in Jan 2013. I have provided all docs including IELTS result to my consultant in April 2013. But it took 7 months to get Credential Letter (Assessment Letter) from Alberta which evaluated my qualification & experience and allowed me to work in Alberta. But now I guess this letter in not necessary or helpful in my process. My file reached to CIO, Nova Scotia in March 2014. So this duration makes me irritate as it has taken almost 22 months of my life and even after that my file is waiting for an officer to be reviewed. Whatever, now I want to concentrate on my current job as FSTP is not in priority of Canadian Immigration. On CIC there are constantly say they need trade person and they have increased FSTP cap from 3000 to 5000 but they have made this category the slowest. it's quite irony, isn't it ??

@Minimee - congratulations to u dear as at least u received "a reply" from CIC. Take care n keep in touch

@ fniazi4u

Your friend need to have this CoQ from the province or a job offer from the company AND positive LMIA to apply FST category if I'm not wrong.
I hope he can attend the test to get the quolification. Good luck!

@ NP26

My pleasure to make you laugh! LOL
I was thinking this is the quickest way because I read immigration news that saying the first person under this category was arrived in Canada on August 2013!! I believe the processing time was really quick at that time! Why not NOW?!?!

@ montu1083

I know your feeling, I thought this category is quicker than other.
Our first plan was to apply under FSW but my husband couldn't reach the required score, then read this category proper and realized it perfectly fit my husband's job! Then I read the news (see the reply to NP26) and CIC want more trade perseon, I thought we are so lucky to fit in this category! Well, they slow down the process now and I don't really get what CIC doing. Changing the rules somany times in the short period, I think it just makes them more confused! I wonder why they don't realize it??
Anyway, if you can change the category to FSW, it might be the better way for you... but you need to hurry up to apply...

Minimee,

when they opened the FST they promised that trade workers will arrive in Canada within 6 months.
the quota for FSW is huge this year (25 000 and before used to be 10 000 I reckon) In my opinion they concentrate on this route and CEC route too. There are not many applications in our program.
I am considering to apply in January again with EE ( it might be faster). But I hope we will get our PER/AOR soon or at least before Christmas and we are sorted...

hi minimee,

I guess it's not possible for me to change my category though i'll check about it. I got 6.5 band in IELTS and 6 band in each module but for FSW my wife also have to give IELTS and now all dates are occupied for this year.

I hope they will act as NP said. I mean clear all applications of this year before Christmas. If it won't work then i'll also go for EE ( but in FSW ).

Good Luck and Good Day to u guys... Take Care

Hi,

My friend had arranged employment and got his PER on 4 Jun.

After that, he have also submitted his PCC in month of July when requested by CIC.

Current status of his application says "In process"

Its been a very long wait that we haven't heard back. Anyone know what is next step and how much time it will take?Huh??

RanjitNagi,

what category did your friend apply for? FSW or FST
everything depends on the speed of his VO. He has to pay the fees and undertake a medical test and after he will receive passport request for his visa...

Minimee

take it easy even though it is hard and have a lovely weekend :)

I just found this:

Determining if a positive eligibility decision has been made

For the purposes of determining if a positive eligibility assessment has been made, the processor will review if the Eligibility Assessment value is set to “Passed” in the Global Case Management System (GCMS). If this decision has not been entered yet, for the purposes of these instructions, a “positive eligibility assessment” will also be considered made when the following is confirmed in GCMS:
•For FSWP applications, the status of the Ministerial Instructions activity has been set to “Met” or a positive Final Determination of Eligibility letter or e-mail has been sent.
•For PNP applications, the status of the Eligibility EC-QC/PNP activity has been set to “Passed” or the Acknowledgment of Receipt letter or e-mail has been sent by the Centralized Intake Office (CIO).
•For CEC applications, the status of the Eligibility CEC activity has been set to “Passed” or the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter or e-mail has been sent by the CIO.
•For FSTP applications, the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter or e-mail has been sent by the CIO

I thought that AoR is sent by VO.
Now, I understand why FSW get PER so quickly. they just calculate 67 points /seems to be the fastest
PNP receive AoR within 2-3 months
CEC 3-4 months
FST nobody knows:))
