Hello everybody
I am a federal skilled worker applicant
I got my visa in June, and planning to land in September.
My questions are:

1- I am preparing to settle in Ottawa, but the flight I have already booked has a stop in Montreal.
Do I have to do the landing formalities in Montreal? Or am I allowed to, since I am not a Quebec applicant?

2- Do I have to collect my baggage and go through the customs at the first port of entry; i.e. Montreal, or I can postpone this to Ottawa?

Many thanks in advance

1. You will complete landing procedures in Montreal.
2. You will have to collect your baggage in Montreal to pass through customs and will then hand it back over to the airline for your Ottawa to Montreal flight.

Hello Forumites

No - there will be no issues landing in Quebec. This happens all of the time. Most international travelers pass through one of Canada's major citities (e.g. Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal) before heading to their final destination.

My flight itinerary is
Beirut-Geneva-Montreal-Ottawa
I was told my bags would be collected at Beirut and I would not be able to collect them until I arrive in Ottawa.
How can I go through the customs at Montreal Airport then?
Please help.
I am traveling after just 2 days.
