Federal Appeal for refugee

So my friends RAD appeal got rejected. Today is her last day to submit legal arguments for federal appeal. But lawyer got sick and told her, he will submit within two or three days with an explanation letter. It was late because he is sick. Would that be a problem?

If laywer can prove that he was sick then it shouldn't be a problem
How long she had to wait for the RAD decision? One of my friend is waiting for his appeal decision.

I suspect it would be a problem They give you a specific amount of time for a reason. If there is no submission by that specific day, it would proceed to the next step in the process.

Why would you (or your lawyer) wait until the last day to submit anything? That's asking for trouble IMO.
