FBI Summary Check (Police Certificate)

Hello,

I am trying to get my fingerprints taken (Form FD-258) for complying with the Police Certificate requirement since I lived in the US for longer than 6 months.
The problem is that where I live (Chile) the only place I found willing to take my prints (Investigation Police) is refusing to take them without a formal letter requesting for my prints.
They showed me a sample letter they are expecting which was from the Canadian Embassy and it gave the persons name, national ID Number, etc.
I tried calling the embassy but they said they can't help me with that.

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? Any ideas on how to get a letter like this?

Wait to receive an ITA and then using that proceed with fingerprinting and getting an US PCC.

Hi There. We are in Chile and in the same situation you were regarding the request for FBI certificate from MCVO. Can you tell me who ended up doing your fingerprints for the FBI? Was it done on the official FBI form or another paper? Any problems with them being accepted. Any additional info? Thank you for any help you can give us! Saludos!!
