If you didn't send it via mail with tracking and it's been less than 6-8 weeks since you sent it, you can call them until you are blue in the face and they STILL won't be able to answer your question. They don't input these things in the system as soon as they are received. They are opened, put in a pile and then processed as they get to them. Once they start processing them, they bill your card and it's input into the system. Only THEN will someone be able to tell you if they were actually received.

I think you will be disappointed by calling them, but here is the number (304) 625-2910.

Good luck.
Thank you so much for the information / phone number above. I really appreciate it, my
Immigration representative failed to follow through with sending this in despite indicating to us
that he had, and it wasn't until we received notification that we knew that it wasn't done.
Supposedly he sent it in on January 24, 2014 - so I'll wait a few weeks and give them a call.
Thank you again very much.

I think that it is ridiculous that you have to follow up yourself on everything after paying a "Professional" to do this :( but that is the situation.

I'm sorry your representative has not been more helpful. There seem to be a lot of people out there ready to make money off of the immigration process without having a lot of expertise in that arena (or not caring enough about the life-altering importance of immigration issues to their clients). Time and time again, you'll see folks in this forum recommend forgoing "professional" assistance unless they have an unusually complicated case (divorced with custody arrangements for children, prior rejection under another immigration class, etc.).

Hopefully your "professional" didn't foul things up too much, and the rest of the process goes smoothly for you!

A bit intimidated by the paperwork/process we retained this professional in 2011 and it has not gone smoothly. Overall, he does seem fairly knowledgeable about immigration, but his performance and follow through is lacking.
As you can imagine, starting this process in 2011 we are anxious to have this finished.
But even today, when I received a call from the Emedical physician about follow up health questions from my January 24, 2014 physical, stated that she had contacted my representative in January, as somehow she didn't have my phone number - only his, and her message to contact her did not get passed along to me!
It wasn't until I called their office myself yesterday to make sure it had been submitted did I learn that they were trying to get ahold of me.
It makes me want to change my contact info with CIC as I don't feel that he is doing his job :(

Lol, it feels like everything that can go wrong has....hopefully smooth sailing from here on out 8)

Yeah, I hear you. We were absolutely daunted at first. We managed to screw things up pretty badly. Life was challenging (we'd just moved to Québec, a very French area, and three weeks later my bilingual husband left my monolingual self alone for 4.5 months while he was away on course in Ontario), and we rushed to get the app put together and sent off before he left. Confused by the Québec stuff, we submitted only the sponsor's portion. And the list of errors goes on! While skyping with my hubby after finding out we'd screwed up, he was frustrated and wondered if we should just hire a lawyer. Sooooooo glad now that we didn't, but the only reason we didn't at the time was me being so cheap (I haven't worked since June of 2012, and while he's great about money, I get pretty weird about spending money at times).

I know you can cancel your authorization of a representative. Did a quick search, and I think this is the form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5476e.pdf. Not sure if you're fed up enough to go that route, but it's pretty nerve-wracking to not even be able to depend on your rep to pass along CIC's inquiries/requests. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the information, I really appreciate that. I must give you tremendous Koodos for the language barrier and trying to deal with the application process on your own. Congratulations on finally completing this process.
I am not sure what we are going to do yet about our representation. I'm am going to find out if we can add our contact info for everything.

Thank you so very much for being one of the many on here, that continue to return to this forum to answer questions about this lengthy process. As I read through this forum, it is so nice to see that there are many such as yourself who quickly provide accurate and timely advice. Thank you so much.

I was a big sissy and I cried a lot at first, haha. Especially in parking lots either just before entering or just after leaving a store. ;D It was a bumpy ride, being alone, knowing no French at first, being far from family and most of my friends, and then all of the uncertainty of the immigration stuff. But that's all in the past. I get by pretty well in French now. It's the best way to learn, to just be dropped into it like that. You get over the fear and embarrassment much more quickly! As for the app stuff, I married by darling husband knowing he was "allergic to administration" and hated all things paperwork-related. I did most of the app myself, including the sponsorship stuff, haha. Heck, nowadays, I even handle our administrative tasks that have to be done in French. He's fluently bilingual, but it's me who makes any and all reservations or calls businesses for info. It's me who called to set up déneigement (snow removal) services at the beginning of winter. And you'd better believe I went by myself to the Service Canada office for my SIN and to the SAAQ (licensing/registration/etc) to exchange my US drivers license for a Québec license.

I don't know anything about adding your contact info. From what I've read on here, it seems most (all?) of the people who have used a representative have information sent to the rep, but not at all sure about that. Hopefully now, with the pcc, medical, and AIP behind you, there's only a bit more waiting and then your DM! I can't say I would definitely cancel my rep if I was in your position. I *can* say they would likely become familiar with my voice as I called them weekly just to check in and see if there had been any news. ;) The way I see it, you've already paid them to put up with you.

Wow, I can't even imagine!?! I would have been so intimidated and lost due to the language. What we do for love, eh?
It sounds like you are bi-lingual now and very happy and that's what matters.
What a winter we've had too. Had to have a nice neighbour plow us out with his tractor - come on Spring :)

Love, temporary insanity, whatever you want to call it, haha! I'm not quite bilingual yet (though my French teacher says I am, haha), but I've made a lot of progress. And our situation wasn't ideal in 2012, but it darn sure proved to me that we've got something worth hanging on to. If we could go through all of that without ever doubting that we made the right choices...well, that's a lot of reassurance.

Yeah, I don't mind snow much, since I grew up in a state where snow was a rare and special treat (AND because we have snow removal service this winter!), but I'm really, really tired of the cold. I just don't think humans should go outside unless it's at least -12°C or warmer.

I hear you, I hear that they haven't had a a Winter like this here in Ontario in years, lol. Where I'm from, we have not had this degree of cold, and certainly not as much cold. Thanks again for the advice...
