Hi,

I would like to take my fingerprints for FBI PCC, those who did self fingerprinting, can you please advise which ink or inkpad you used so that fingerprints do not have lot of smudging.

I tried taking it through 'Golden' inkpad that is common in Delhi/NCR (India) on A4 paper but prints were terrible. There is an item available on Amazon 'Lee Inkless FingerPrint Pad', does anyone has experience with it

Thanks,

If you can, I would personally suggest you go to a place specialized in getting fingerprints for the FBI. I'm pretty sure you can find some of them around the world. If you take your fingerprints incorrectly, you risk getting your FBI PCC application rejected. Since the application process is already pretty long (3+ months), it would take you forever if you had to re-take them. If you do that yourself, be aware of the risks, and make sure you do that very well.

Thank you for your reply, I did get fingerprints taken by a lab once and have send them to FBI. Those fingerprints didn't came out perfect and lab assistant was herself doubtful if they will be accepted, that's why I want to send 1 more request. The lab where I went was very reluctant in using multiple copies of FD-258 and instead gave me sub-optimal print as long as they got the money.

I know how to roll my fingers this time, so I am planning to take multiple copies myself (may be 5-6) and send to FBI again. Due to previous bad experience, I would prefer to do it myself this time but don't know which ink to use.

but how come lab people dint get another copy if they werenot sure of the prints.

u can take urself but make sure they come out to be clear.apply less ink from the pad and do not press ur fingers too hard on the paper.try getting 5-10 sets ans send them all..i did that on my own the first time and many people said that they are gonna get rejected as they were smuged in the picture i showed them. so i went for another application by my own. i again sent one more application, this time used a professional and this time the print were perfect, but after few days my first time application got approved and my finger prints were accepted which most people rejected seeing them.
so dont worry.just take multiple sets.see the videos on youtube and take help of someone.
send mutiple copies.it helps.

I would suggest you to get fingerprinting done from a professional service. For my first attempt I took my fingerprints by myself and funnily used the same ink. Of course the ink is not to blame but my skills on getting the fingerprints were bad. My fingerprints were rejected by FBI since they could not be read and I was asked to resubmit new prints. Second time I got them done professionally. Note t takes 4 months for FBI to even know that your fingerprints are rejected.

Anyway see below URL for places in Delhi that provide this service professionally.
