I'm not completely sure how yours looks, but my wife had to do the same thing, but we submitted our fingerprints directly to the FBI. It sounds a little funny to get them same-day to me? It tooks us 3 business days, though we submitted ours directly to the FBI by mail.

What I will say, though, is that we opted to get electronic copies and a hard copy mailed to us - there is no difference. They just send you a printout. It's indistinguishable from what we could have printed at home.

Thanks!

Hi,
When your wife did the FBI fingerprinting were you in Canada and still able to submit everything electronically directly to the FBI?
Also, when you submitted the application did you just include a printout of your FBI results or hard copy? I'm reading online that if you request paper copy FBI will send you a sealed one. I'm wondering what format I must submit the results to IRCC, at home printout of the electronic version is good enough or must it be the sealed one?

Thank you in advanced for your help!

Whoops! I guess that I misrepresented myself a bit. We didn't submit the fingerprints electronically. We actually took them on paper and ink in our own house (evidently, they allow for that.) You can send like 5 or 10 cards, so if you screw one up, one of the others will do it for you. We didn't want to go to an electronic collection center because of Covid (it was around April or May last year, which was kind of prime covid time here in the states.) We were also here in the states.

The FBI sent us an envelope with a hard copy in it, yes, but I figured that IRCC didn't care about the enveloped or else they would have stated such. I just included the paper copy with my application, but like I said, the paper copy is indistinguishable from the electronic one that you can print off.
