Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello guys

In the middle of my process, I was asked for FBI police certificate.
Does anyone know if I can take the finger prints by myself?

If you have the proper FBI card to put said prints on, then yes, you can do them yourself. However, be very aware if you are not well versed in how to take fingerprints, they will get them, it will take a few weeks for them to even open the envelope, they will reject them for unclear prints or some other such reason, and then send you a letter to that effect along with a refusal or inability to obtain your record and then you can start all over. OR, you can go to a local police agency that can/will do your prints for a small modest fee and ensure they are done correctly the first time around and then wait your 6 weeks to get your return certificate from the FBI.

Totally your choice :D

I saw here in Sherbrooke, Québec and it costs 60 dollars to have it.
It's kind expensive.

Is the card this one here?

Yeah it is expensive if a technician does it for you.
I got mines taken for $65 like 3 months ago, she brought the FBI form (in a cardboard-like paper) and guaranteed that if they returned my request, she would re-do my prints.

Got my FBI letter without a glitch. You may contact your local police office and they usually do them for a very reduced fee or for free in some cases.

and in how many weeks did you receive it at your house?
Do I need to pay something more than 18 US dollars to get it here at my house in Québec?

You shouldn't need to pay more than the $18 to have it sent to you, no. It takes about 6 weeks for the FBI to return it back to you. Of course, there is no telling how much long it might take with Canada Post, but I know I got mine sent to my address in the US and it took almost exactly 6 weeks to get it back. I also only paid my local sheriffs office $15 to do my prints, but then, that was in the US not Canada, nor Quebec.

Yes, that is the card to use if you are going to print it off the net to do it yourself. If you have them done 'professionally' they are more of a cardboard look to them and they are also in a blue colored print. The guarantee of a redo is a good thing to have if they are rejected for some reason. Still kind of expensive, I think, but then immigration does come at a pretty good price, financially and emotionally.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Does the credit card need to be in the same name as the applicant?
Cause my husband is the one paying it.

Look at the instructions for sending it in. That should tell you if the card has to be in the name of the applicant. I don't recall since it wasn't an issue for me, I paid with my own credit card prior to moving over here. I don't think it would be an issue, but double check the instruction manual.

Had mine done professionally (by police, sheriff, and then a woman who does prints for immigration<---her's was the one that finally got accepted), got rejected two times before finally being accepted on the third try. The whole process of just getting my FBI report took almost 5 months. I have extremely fine ridges that smudge easily. Lucky me. I just hope I don't have to redo them, I'm coming up on their expiry date soon, I'd hate to have to go through that again.

I was going to the police station here.

Do you guys think it's better to print the card they offer on the website or do you think they might have it there?

Tomorrow I'll check if there's any immigration person who can take my fingerprints, since he or she, might be used to it.

My fiance and I had no choice but to do it ourselves, because Vietnam apparently doesn't have any one doing fingerprints.

Mikey, why would you need an FBI certificate from Vietnam? Maybe I am misunderstanding your statement?

She lived in the US for a year to study then went back to vietnam, CIC requires fbi check
if lived in us for at least 6 mths

Is there any way of asking for an ''Urgence Service'' like writting on the envelop or sending a note, etc.

Would it may work?

Nope. They work in their own time. 6 weeks is about the time it will take no matter what you write on your envelope.
