FBI Clearance taking a LONG TIME??

We got our invitation to apply on May 25th, and sent in our FBI clearance on May 28th. It's now August 17th and just got another letter from CIC saying if they don't receive our FBI clearance by September 16th our application will be canceled.

We already sent in a IRCC form saying we sent it in and are waiting for it back in June... Should we send in another one? Has anyone else experienced this long of a wait from the FBI? Should I try getting a hold of the FBI?

Thanks

The FBI clearance takes forrrrrrever. Roughly about 15 weeks. We applied for ours early April 2016 and just got it back late July.

Hi, ours was mailed May 17 and we only got it back on Tuesday, so yes it took forever. You'll probably see it in the next couple weeks.

Thank you. Should I sent a IRCC form just in case?
you need to reply to the email from cic or send a case specific inquiry requesting an extension and make sure they know you have made efforts to get the report so your file does not get closed. if you are in the us, there are now CIC approved channelers you can get the record from almost instantly. this information is on the cic website. if you are that concerned, this may be the best route for you to take...assuming you are in the us.
