Hi everyone;

This is my situation; I have been finding out for at least more than a year how to apply for a Work Permit and/or a Permanent Resident Visa. The fact is that after a time I have been looking for opportunities that some travel agencies may offer in my country (Argentina) to Work temporarily in Canada. I had the possibility to visit Canada in a quality of visitor when I was in United States doing a postgraduate program of my profession.
I met in Canada the woman who is nowadays my couple and we lived together for four months; plus I liked so much Canada as a place to even continue my studies, to achieve my professional and also my personal goals besides the fact that I love this woman. We have been standing a long distance relationship for 8 months, while I was untiringly finding out ways to get a work permit that allowed us to start a life together in Canada without the necessity to actually get marry right now.
She is a nurse, and I am architect in my country. The best option for us, under the requirements that other kind of visas ask, were definitely to obtain a work permit visa that allowed me to work legally in Canada. I finally found a travel agency which under the "International Experience Canada" allowed me to work temporarily there for a year. I started with this Travel Agency this program application process like 4 months ago; who actually is proceeding in my behalf with the Canada Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina and they also send me instructions to get complete my application, because I live in other province in Argentina that is so far away from Buenos Aires. In the Travel agency they already knew that I had lived in United States during all 2010.
I do everything with the time enough according to the instructions I am receiving from the Agency; such as fill out the first Canada Immigration forms, the International Experience Canada forms, the Agency forms,.. I send them all filled out back to the agency again; once they are approved they send me the orders to get the medical examinations. I make my medical examinations that are requested for the Embassy, they result fine; which by the way are quite expensive; plus the costs of the embassy fees and the programs fees. I do my Criminal Records of my country that actually just delayed 3 days and they also are quite expensive; and like 3 days ago I receive a letter from the Canada Embassy in my mailbox, telling me that they also need the FBI Certificate for the time I have lived in United States and they put as a deadline November 18!!!!!,...

I find out untiringly again how to obtain that, and everybody says that they last between 4 and 8 weeks; So I decide that the best is to call to the FBI offices and ask in person, and they says the same (between 4 and 8 weeks!!!),....

I have received this letter from the Embassy just 5 days ago!!!; So right away I learn about that, I find out what they need from the FBI to obtain it, and I send to the FBI offices all the forms, fingerprints, etc.. , in order to get that FBI Certificate;...

I am so desperate and hopeless;!!! it has been a really long process and lot of money invested on that to ruin that out just for that paper!!

What can I do now? is there someone in the same situation than me? I need please help with this,...

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
This travel agency, did you pay them? Do they have Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants in their employ? Or Canadian lawyers? These are the only people authorized to give legal advice about immigration to Canada and get paid.

Anyway, apply for the FBI check and request an extension from the visa office sending them proof that you made the request to the FBI. Mark URGENT on the front of the envelope you send to the FBI. It might help a little.

Hi rjessome;

Thanks for answer me back. As regards as the travel agency; they with just another travel agency are the only authorized people to give these programs called Work and Travel Canada; and they are the strongest consular connection with the Canada Embassy in Argentina as regards as programs such as the one called "International Experience Canada"; otherwise to get a work permit you need to get a job offer from an employer of Canada and pass other filters in the office of Human Resources in Canada, which is even a .

You don't have any other opportunity to apply for Work Permits for Canada in Argentina. No lawyers, no Canadian Immigration Consultants; they just have the link with the Canada Embassy in Buenos Aires.

They just have experience doing this kind of paperwork for programs like these.

I have looked so much for Canadian Immigration Consultants when I was in Buenos Aires, (I live in Mendoza, Argentina); but I didn't find anybody that could really help me with my application process.

What I think is that they didn't consider the fact I lived for a year in United States, and from the travel agency they just asked me for the paperwork and certificates I may get in Argentina; such as the medical orders and the Criminal Records Certificate from my country; but they forgot telling me I had also to attach this FBI Certificate that to be completely sincere is now causing me so much stress. All the rest is Ok,.. in fact they received the medical examination results on Friday and there were everything fine.

I just need this FBI certificate, which as a matter of fact I have already sent the application for it with the mark "Urgent" on Friday; It might be in the FBI offices on Monday according of courier service said to me. I am actually thinking that I may call them on Monday explaining them my situation by phone too. And send to the Canada Embassy the proof and details of the bill, showing them that I have already sent the application for this FBI Certificate with my name (I have this).

What do you think? Is anybody before in my situation?
