Hey there,

I obtained my FBI check through a 3rd party service called Fieldprint. But basically, they just provide you with a PDF document to print. Now when I look at the Canadian immigration requirements, they say that photocopies are not accepted. Does anyone have experience with this? When you print off the PDF sent by the FBI through fieldprint, is that considered acceptable?

Thank you!

Hey there,

I was once a pretty active member here, but...that was then. ;)

It looks like CIC is still accepting FBI IHSR letters from approved Channelers, so I think you're good.

Here's what they say:

---
For U.S. citizens and permanent residents only:
you may apply to an FBI-approved channeler (a third party that helps deliver your information to the FBI). They will collect your application form, fingerprints, any fee(s), and give them to the FBI.

Once the FBI completes their background check, they will send the results to the channeler. The channeler will then give you your record check letter.

Please include the FBI letter with your application, and send us the complete package.
---

So, even though the PDF is in fact a copy, it is what they sent you, right? Just send it, along with anything else that Fieldprint sent you (include your proof of payment to them, just for fun).

Good luck!

I sent the copy also, but took the precaution of sending the emails I got during the whole process, everything went alright
