Guys, :o

The PR processing time until someone to be able to work in Canada 1 year ago was like:

Outside 6-12 month for whole process
Inside 9-12 for Initial assessment (eligible to apply for Open work permit)

However, as I checked CIC web yesterday, it is like:

Outside 6-12 mo depend on country
Inside 6 for Initial assessment

Does this implies apply for inside Canada become the fastest way to gain working status ? ??? ???

P.S. No Time to waste for pursuing career for family ;)

Guess it depends on how much and how long you want to deal with the CIC lol I applied Outland and I landed 7 months to the day from filing and no more CIC. In-land you will be able to work after 6 months but the CIC will still be there... so it's really comes down to how straight forward you feel your case is and how fast they process it...

Note that the six months is not guaranteed. It could take substantially longer if there are any questions or issues with your file and it's transferred to the local office before AIP (first stage approval).

it also very much depends on which VO you would be going through.... Some Vos are quite fast and outland is the way to go (London for example, Sydney, New Delhi and a few others), but some have very long waiting time... it also depends on how straightforward your case is...
Good luck,
Sweden

Agreed with Sweden. It depends on VO. I saw one applicant from Korea got landed in 3 months.

Work permit is one thing but getting a job is another. If you are in Canada, start making connection and get involved with community.
