1. If you are married you don't have a choice, you have to add your spouse. Processing the same.

Hey..
Thanks for your reply.
And I would like to add is that I am not married yet. But I just want to know the processing time.
If it is faster to have PR as a single, then I would delay my marriage. And after I get my PR, I'll get married and then I'll put my spouse's PR file on my dependance.

But if it takes the same time to get the PR done regarless of being single or married, then I'll merry first and then put the PR file for both of us together.

Please advises are needed from everyone..
Thanks!!

It mean you are yourself not PR yet ? under which program you are applying ? and by the way you are in wrong section, this is for Spouse/family sponsership section you yourself aren't yet PR.

Also the timeline vary alot (huge difference) depending on your country of origin.

Do you live with your partner, and if so, have you lived together for over a year, or will you have lived together for over a year by the time your PR application is done? If so, CIC will consider that a common-law relationship (same as marriage), and I believe if you do not list your partner on your application, you will NEVER be able to sponsor your partner.

I don't think so. They are not married yet so that doesn't really apply. You can apply as single and add her while in process if you do not wish to wait til your married to apply.. Delaying your marriage because you hope to do anything faster is a huge error. Depending on where you are from it will cause your wife a huge delay

QuebecOkies statement regarding common law marriage status is quite valid. The OP is asking whether to file a CEC PR Application single or married. It would stand to reason that he is now in Canada and perhaps his girlfriend is a student or something in Canada as well. If he is indeed living with this girlfriend/fiance then they could be classed as common law either at the time of or shortly after his application is filed.

Her question should be a concern to the OP depending on what he intends to do. Filing either single or married does not speed up the process. The application needs to make all of the steps either way.
