Faster Processing Before Election and Slower Processing After Election

Some people say Overseas Visa Offices were processing files faster due to election. Since election is over they slow down the process. Is it true?

False. Harper has an ax to grind with federal public servants. They would have only slowed down to show the public how bad Harper is/was and not the opposite.

There's been a fair bit of speculation about this but it's hard to see how it would be the case or indeed why.

It would suggest all these overseas offices are deliberately working slower than they could do and only speed up when they get the phone call from Ottawa, only to immediately slow down again as soon as there's a change in government.

Plus people getting visas through overseas offices are by definition unable to vote in the election, and I really can't see how Liberal/NDP/Green voting Canadian family members would suddenly change their vote to Conservative just on the basis of the visa being granted before the election.

Heard that in spite of the party in power they try to expedite processing right before the election time to attract Immigrants and after election goes back to old routine.
