Hello all, I am in a bit of a situation and would like some help..
my sister is in Iran and she is caring for her sister in law who has Down syndrome.
The sister in-law with DS was thrown out of her home and left on the street, she was beated, starved and assaulted and was returned to my sister by a friend that saw her sister barefoot on the side of the street.
My sister is poor and already has a hard time making ends meet the government does not help them with financial needs or food but does not want to put her sister in law in a care home of in the hands of others.

im wondering if there is a way for me to bring my sisters sister in law here to canada for my wife to care for as she cares for people with disabilities already! TIA

I'm sorry for this situation. Unfortunately there is no visa available for this type of scenario. The most you could try to do is bring your SIL to Canada temporarily on a visitor visa. However given her situation and condition, a TRV is unlikely to be approved.

OMG that is so very sad and absolutely horrible. Unfortunately the answer is no. She would have to immigrate on her own merits (not likely possible) or come to Canada on a visitor visa. A TRV doesn’t allow her to live in Canada or access any services. This would be difficult as she needs to show her own funds, travel history, ties to Iran etc. She is also not a relative because it is your sister’s sister-in-law. Is there a way for you to provide money for your sister to support her sister-in-law.

As others have replied there isn't a way for you to bring her to Canada.

You however could support her financially by sending money to them (as you said "My sister is poor and already has a hard time making ends meet")
Even if there is any route of sponsorship, (and there isn't) the sponsor needs to commit to support person they sponsored to Canada financially. So you can do that remotely instead.

That's the issue. Who will that be? To take care of her. The government of Canada will not bring in a new PR (some exceptional cases but that won't apply to your sister's sister-in-law) knowing that the government will need to pay for her living and caring. That's called overburden of the social/health system.
Thanks for taking care of this distant relative. You are very kind.

Unfortunately there's really no path for bringing her to Canada. Your best option is to explore how you can arrange for her care in her home country.

It would be much more expensive to care for her in Canada than in Iran so if you are saying you can only send a limited amount of funds not sure how you would be able to afford to care for another person in Canada. Not an option as others have pointed out.
