Hello
I have some question and I hope I will find the answers here
I am Egyptian and I will marry soon with a Canadian person and we plan to make an application as family sponsorship
I stay in Saudi Arabia, my spouse is staying in Canada
I just want to ask
1- Who should submit the application ( who will be the applicant ) and which visa office
2- How long time for the processing time approximately total since sending the application
3- Is because my spouse is Canadian by birth can that shortages the processing time?
thank you so much

Hello,

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/egypt-egypte/

1) That is the website for the visa office in Egpyt. Your Canadian spouse will the the sponsor and you will be the applicant (sponsored). I assume your are applying outland (while you are still in Egypt and your wife is in Canada). You will print the forms for Perm. residence from this website. Your completed application will be processed in Canada first ( to make sure your wife can sponsor you - she can't be on welfare, etc ). If approved, your application will be sent to your visa office to be completed.

2) Processing times are on the website and are AVERAGE. Some take less time, many take more time.

3) Your wife being a citizen of Canada by birth may make the processing slightly shorter but only because they won't have to look into her immigration status as much (vs. if she was a PR, they would have to know when she was sponsored, and look into all of that). But your wife being Canadian does NOT give you any preference for faster processing and your application will be processed like anyone elses.

Good luck

Thank you so much for the reply
I understood, that me ( the sponsored ) who will submit the application in my name, ( I will be the principal applicant ) right?
Another question please
Is it necessary to make the health examination and police certificate before submission the application ? or if I delayed sending them , it would affect the process of my application ?
Thank you so much

You have to send your wife your part of the application, she will then submit BOTH parts to Mississauga :)

As for the medical and PCC, yes it is strongly suggested you do it before you apply and include it, as it would cause delays. The only thing is, if the doctor says they need a letter from CIC stating that you need a medical, then you can send CIC a letter in place of the medical saying what the doctor told you. :)
