The details:
Spousal Sponsorship approved.
On year 2 of 3

The question has been brought up that he may want to go back to his country of origin ( Brazil) to work. At what point/Will this effect/jeopardize his permanent resident status?

Given that you say it's years 2, I assume this is an inland app. Such a shame because Sao Paulo is a fast office and no Brazilian should ever apply inland.

Inland apps require the applicant to be cohabiting in Canada with their sponsor. If he returns to Brazil to work and IRCC finds out (which they almost definitely will), the app will probably be cancelled.

Are you asking on behalf of others? I ask because your post history is confusing. You mentioned having an American husband in one post and an Armenian husband in another.

Yes sorry, I am asking on behalf of a friend. She doesn't have an application, everything is already finished and her husband (brazil) already has a work permit. However is finding it difficult to keep a job here. The opportunity to have a job back in Brazil has been brought up and they are curious if it will wreck his already approved resident/sponsorship with his wife here in Canada

Is he a PR? Or does he have a work permit? If he is a PR, he does not need and cannot get a work permit.
If he is a PR, he has to stay in Canada for two years out of every five, on a rolling basis. (That is, staying the first two years, leaving for four, then coming back would not work, for example.)
However, if his wife is a Canadian citizen, then if she is with him in Brazil, then every day spent with her counts as part of the residency requirement to keep his PR.
