Family Sponsorship and TRV

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I can apply temporary visa for my wife same time I applying for sponsorship?
Has anybody tried to get TRV before sponsorship approval to bring his wife to Canada sooner?
I have PR and living in Canada.

Yes - you can do both. It tends to be difficult to get a TRV approved in this situation since CIC knows your spouse likely has plans on remain in Canada long term. However some are successful and you can certainly try. To have the highest chance of success, your spouse should demonstrate strong ties to their home country.
