I am interested in sponsoring my mother from Pakistan. She is living there alone with my younger brother and my brother is sometimes away due to his work so I am always worried about her.

My dad is alive but he lives with his second wife but my mom and dad are not divorced. My father often comes home every few month for few hours but he lives with his second wife.

I need your help to find out what my options are if I only want to sponsor my mother. Can she be a primary applicant? Can I only sponsor her without sponsoring my father as he wants to live with his second wife.

Please advise if it is possible that I can only sponsor my mother.

First you'd have to sponsor both of them because their marriage is recognized by Canada but his 2nd marriage is not. If your brother is under 22 he would also be included in the application. The PGP program exists to sponsor parents but there requirements when in comes to your Canadian family income and time spent in Canada. There is also the option of a supervises for long visits of 2 years. Also dependent on your Canadian income and you have to pay for supervisa health insurance for your mother.

my brother is 28. I understand what you are saying but my problem is my father wont agree to sponsor him and thats why i am stuck.

is there any other way if I can only sponsor my mother?

Yes, you can sponsor only your mother BUT if she is his first wife and they are not divorced you must include your father in the family size calculation AND he must undergo a medical examination (and pass it), regardless of his intentions for immigration purposes.

As someone has already suggested. Your father has to be included in the sponsorship but doesn't have to come to Canada.
