Hi there, I'm new here so I hope I am doing this the right way. I'm sponsoring my husband by inland family sponsorship. My husband, whom I am sponsoring received an email that stated:

"it has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law in Canada class. Please note that a final decision will not be made untill all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you, and if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident untill you and all of your family members have met these requirements.
IMPORTANT: Passports for yourself and your family members must be valid for the duration of your stay in Canada."

The letter also mentioned some other detailes not regarding the matter of family members.

After reading this we were both puzzled. We had stated that the number of people on the application is 2, him and I, and we had given the names of his parents and siblings.

-do we need to get his parents and sibling to do medical, security and background checks in China and send them over?
- basically what are we suppose to do and how are we suppose to do all that?

There was no deadline given to complete these requirements so I am freaking out. Also there's no help line to call and ask about these questions.

Thank you so much for all of your help, I'm very concerned and freaking out at the moment.

We haven't actually applied yet (we hopefully will get to that by the end of the week), but to me this sounds like a standard letter they just send out to everyone to acknowledge that they started processing. They will send you requests for a medical exam and maybe some additional documents if they need them later in the process. And as far as I am concerned it should only be the person being sponsored who needs a medical exam and not his parents.

Only the applicant needs the medical, background check etc. Nothing to worry about you have to be happy as you got the AIP next is the DM and landing appointment. Congrats!

Non accompanying dependents need a medical as well if applicable, it's not always just the applicant.

Yes but on her case only the principal applicant.

Just recieved an email today saying that our interview is in 5 days. Is it just me or is this going by really fast. We had been requested for his medical and security background check back in November and we submitted it back then.

As you haven't provided full timeline information, no one can comment on the speed of your app.
