Hi guys, congrats to all who got their dm, Aip and and new pr holders. I have a questions, I am a temporary worker under live in caregiver before I applied for spousal sponsorship. Early 2011 I applied for the extension of my temporary visa in buffalo which is they granted me but in my family information forms I didn't disclosed my spouse which is my common law during that period and my daughter which is both of them are Canadian citizen, its complicated my situation during that period. my spouse is my employer, do you think I am gonna have a problem with my processing now. I have been waiting for 2nd stage since august 2012 till now havnt hear anything them? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

i think it depends on when you became common-law, since that only happens after you've been co-habiting together for one year. since your spouse was also your employer for a live-in caregiver then just the living together will not cut it (since living at the same house was part of your employment). you will need to show other proof such as joint bills, joint bank accounts, basically that you are living as a couple and have been for one-year at least.

that being said, you also said that your employer is now your spouse, so i assume you have married, thus the common-law questions above can be voided. i would think that not declaring your CL back then but including that information in your file now may raise some questions, but i dont' know if it would be a right for outright refusal (such is the case if you were to sponsor your spouse and not declare their kid as dependant on the forms, then the spouse can never sponsor that kid as family class in the future) since that was a temporary visa application.

maybe some one who has seen that can add more insight?
