Family emergency: Can we leave Canada for a few weeks

Hi Guys,

I submitted my spousal application on 28th November 2019.
This was an Inland Sponsorship with Open Work Permit.

Can the principal applicant leave Canada if there is an emergency back home, for a week or two.
What are the consequences of this?
We have not received AOR as yet.

Nothing stopping you from leaving. Recommended the trip be kept as short as possible. There's never a guarantee you will be readmitted to Canada when you return.

Yes, there is no way of knowing what the officer would do. No guarantee of entry into Canada even with a valid visitors visa.
