Fall 2016 Application Status

Hi guys

I have started this thread for the fall2016 applicants.Post about any Canadian University to which you have applied along with the application status, so that it will be helpful for everyone who are waiting for the acceptance.

I have applied to the following universities for Masters in Mechanical Engineering and my application status is:
McGill status-Submitted
Waterloo status-No decision made by the academic department yet
UBC status-In progress

Hello, I applied for UBC, my application status when I log into my CWL ,'Submitted' and when I click Manage its showing 'In Progress'. When I log into student service centre, it says,'no application here. You need to contact the department'. Any ideas about this and when can we expect a decision?

Hey gururaj,

I also had the same problem. When I contacted the department they said that applicants will be notified by mail about their results. I applied on Jan 1st week and the application status is still showing "in progress". I got the following reply from UBC mechanical dept. admission coordinator when i inquired about the status.

Admission to the Graduate Program is on a competitive basis and is not automatic even if minimum requirements are met. Once an applicant has submitted all required electronic documentation and it has been determined that minimum admission standards are met, the file is reviewed by faculty members.The admission process is timely and varies for each student and program. Faculty members evaluate applications on an ongoing basis; as such, we cannot provide a specific date for a decision.

Once you’ve completed your application and uploaded all supporting documents, we start to consider your application. You can check your application status online anytime through the application portal using your CWL. Successful applicants will be contacted via email.

Please be patient while our office considers your application. We understand and sympathize with your concerns about your application, however, we would appreciate if you refrain from calling or emailing to check your application status as all successful applicants will be notified as soon as the department makes a decision. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi All,

I too have applied for Carleton / Windsor / UOIT and UBC for fall 2016. I applied during last week of January. My application status for Carleton shows preliminary review required and for Windsor it shows Application with CEPE and for UOIT the status shows under review. What does it mean?

My application for UBC got declined.

If anyone can help as to when I can get a reply from Carleton and Windsor?
