So I recently submitted my study permit (on the 7th of June, 2016). I am a US citizen living in Malaysia, and apparently they process study permits at the Singapore office. First of all, are there any US citizens living outside of the US on these forums? I'd love to hear your experience on obtaining a Canadian study permit.
Back on topic, currently my plan is to go traveling around Canada, as I can visit Canada without a visa, and am planning on waiting out my application from within Canada (it supposedly takes 6 weeks as of now for those applying from Malaysia, much shorter than the 180 day visiting period for US citizens). However, I am afraid that they might ask for additional documents that I amy not be able to provide. Does anyone here have any experience with CIC asking for additional documents? If so, in general, what are they?
I'd like to bring along any documents that I may need with me on my travels, or at least make a digital scan of them and bring them along, in case CIC asks for them, and I can upload them whilst traveling. I have close to no idea what CIC may ask for, and thus I would like to know if anyone has received a request for additional documents from CIC before, and what documents they were, just to get a general idea.
