They can, and do, if they are suspicious of you. However, it's not a standard part of the landing procedures.basti13 said:Hello Guys,

Echoing what zardoz has advised - the CBSA officers can do that, and usually happens during secondary inspection. As a first-time immigrant, there is some leniency to the initial inspection - this is why you need to be consistent with the answers to the initial questions asked by the officers at the PoE. If they do see reasons to subject you to further scrutiny, then the inspection can be expanded to include contents of your phone, laptop and external HDD or disks.basti13 said:Hello Guys,
