Hi,

I have a question and am hoping someone can help me with an answer. We recently got our Canada immigration visa and we are planning to land in Canada in July 2014. Currently I am residing in US and I work for an International Company. I am not in a position to move immediately to Canada because of my work. I was planning to settle in Canada for good after a year or two. So I want to know how long should I stay in Canada to get my PR extended. I know the PR is given for 5 years.

Another question is since we have family in Calgary, we are planning to visit them constantly in the coming two years. Will our travel & stay in Calgary for the next two years be counted towards our stay in Canada after we get our PR cards.

You must live in Canada for 730 days out of every five rolling years to keep your PR status. All days spent in Canada are counted towards this total.
