Extension of work permit ?

I did a 2 years diploma from a Canadian college and was suppose to get 3 year work permit but only got it for 2.5 years as my passport was only valid for that long. Now I have renewed my passport and was wondering how to apply for extension of the remaining six months. I've seen a lot of people on this forum who got their work permits extended and were in the same situation.

Same my case, I have 1 and an half year work permit , it was suppose to get 2 years. My passport was only valid for that long as well, so I applied for extension work permit along with the letter of explanation. However, I got 6 months work permit afterword.

If you take 2 academic years study program you are entitled to get work permit for up to 3 years. By that it means it depends on Visa Officer. They usually extend it and give you 3 years work permit. Make sure you apply 3 months before expiry, include all the documents and pay fees in full. Fees for PGWP is 155$ and since it is an open work permit you have to include 100$ more for a total of 255$. If you can't do it online then send a money order or see on the CIC website the other ways of paying but make sure at the time of application fees is paid in full.
