Hi
My passport was stamped for a year as a visitor visa .it says multiple .but it's ending on 5th June 2019.i visited Canada twice .once in 2018 and recently in Feb for three weeks.is it necessary that I have to apply for extension while in Canada only ?
I) can I visit Canada in June 2019 and then apply for extension ? Please guide

The expiry date on the visa indicates the last day you will be permitted to enter Canada. This means the last day you can enter Canada on this visa is June 9, 2019. This date is irrelevant to how long you can actually stay in Canada (visitor status)—you may very well be allowed to stay for 6 months, and it’s not necessary to have a valid visa so long as you have valid status to stay in Canada.

If you wish to enter Canada AFTER June 5, 2019, only then do you have to apply for a new visa.

“Extensions” in the IRCC context strictly refer to status, or your stay in Canada. There is no such thing as a “visa extension”.

My question was that if I apply for new visa , is it important to be in Canada or it can be applied from India too? Secondly passport was not stamped this time as everything was online .what are the chances that my Visa can be renewed?

What does the word Multiple means on a visa stamp?

Officially, only people with study or work permits can apply for TRVs within Canada. I recommend you apply for a new TRV in India so it’s simpler to show ties outside of Canada.

Multiple means you can reuse that visa to enter Canada until expiry or explicitly cancelled. The other visa type is single, meaning it is cancelled after one entry.

Typically chances of getting another TRV are good so long as you respected the terms of your previous one.

Not sure what you mean by “Secondly passport was not stamped this time as everything was online”.

Usually there is entry / exit stamp on the passport .kind of immigration too but the stamping was only done in India .in Canada everything was done on kiosks.
Thanks for the reply .

If you have no entry stamp it means you are allowed to stay for 6 months. Canada no longer affixes entry/exit stamps unless you request for it.

How did you apply for your previous visa? You do the same thing for your next application. It’s the same process and requirements, however you may now possibly qualify for CAN+ where you can only apply with an employment letter and the usual application forms, and a letter requesting for CAN+ processing, and bank statements are not required.

You apply for renewal whenever you want to. There are no rules but it makes no sense for you to apply until after June 9.

I read somewhere that when you apply under CAN + ,you need to show your valid travel stamps .but as I mentioned the passport was not stamped at Canada .I only have entry / exit stamps of Delhi .rest is all online .I do have ticket copy .that's all.

This I am still confused ..
Allowed to stay for 6months ? Means I can go in June and stay there for 6 months and then apply for new visa ?
