Hi, I am looking to extend my Super visa in the near future. I see from the checklist that I will need to include a declaration of common law union. When we originally came into Canada 18 months ago we did one in SA, but have done another one here just to be safe, and yes you need to have it notarised. We tried Service Canada, but they would not do it, so went to a Public Notary. Hope this helps you.

Hi, we didn't send ours to Service Canada. We asked Service Canada to notorise declaration for us, but they said they couldn't .....that is why we went to a public notary. Then send original with documents and keep copy for self.
