Extension of visa Required?

Hi All,

I am an international student studying in Canada currently. However, my Visa will expire on Nov 2019 but has a study permit till July end as my first course is till April 2020. My question is : my course is just for one year and I want to do another course probably on sep 2020. Since my visa will expire this nov 2019. I know till we have valid study permit, we don’t need visa if we stay here in Canada. But what if I want to apply for next study permit later for sep 2010? Will I get visa and study permit both at that time? Do I have to do anything for now? If I don’t do extension of my visa now, will that affect my visa extension in future?

Please provide suggestions.

You dont HAVE to do anything now, but it is always good to have a valid TRV in case you need to leave Canada for an emergency back home if you dont have one you wont be able to come back until you do which can take many months causing you to miss classes & failing to qualify for pgwp.

Once you get your new LOA for your next course you should apply for an extension to your sp, sp extensions can take 3-4 months so plan accordingly.
You will not get TRV automatically you will need to apply for one after you get the sp extension.
