Extension of Visa - help

Hi,
I have a multiple entry visa expires on 31st July. I plan to go to India as soon as possible. I have to return for classes on September. Is it possible to extend the visa from India? How long will it take to extend the visa ?. I live in Chennai.

DO not make that Mistake !!!!!!

Do not leave the country and apply for it from India. There have been cases where visa extension has been denied.
Apply while ur still here and go after u get an extension !!

Ok. what if I go to India for one month and return to Canada before the visa expires? I should not have any issues with that right?

If you return back before the expiry of permit and multiple entry visa. Then you're good to go.
Never think of applying from India. Loads of rejection.
