Hi,

I have two questions:
1) I would like to know how and where can we extend TRV (temporary resident visa, V-1).
2) If the immigration stamp did not mention any date on it, till what time one can stay in Canada.

I need this information urgently. Please do guide.

Thanking you

1. You can't extend the TRV, you have to apply to an overseas office for a new one, if yours is only single entry.
2. No date, or document, then 6 months.

Thanks for the information. But if it is a multi-entry visa than??? Where and how can we extend the visa in Canada itself
1. You are confusing apples with oranges. A TRV , whether single or multiple entry is for non visa exempt citizens to ENTER Canada.
2. If you wish to remain longer than your original entry, after you have entered, then you apply to extend your visitor status to Vegreville. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend-stay.asp

Hi,

Thank you for the link. It would be really helpful. I might be comparing apples and oranges because i am still not clear about the different types of visa in Canada.
Actually my in-laws came to Canada with two years valid V-1 visa in September. At port of entry in Canada, the BSO stamped their passport without mentioning any date on it. Now that we know, that it means validity of 6months stay in Canada, we want ot extend their stay in Canada.
Hope this clears the idea of asking confusing questions.

So now they apply to vegreville for an extension of their visitor status.
