Extension of bridging work permit

Hi I got ainp nomination in Dec 2016 and I applied to cic in Jan 2017. I got file number on March 22. As my pgwp was expiring in July 2017, I applied for bridging work permit and it will be till 15 may 2018. Now i checked the processing times for paper application of pr application and its 18 months. After all this processing, it might pass may 15 2018 work permit validity. Does my bridging work permit can be extended ? Or not. If they can be extended what are the conditions

yes you an extend your bridging work permit, 3 months to your BOWP expiration, call AINP and explain to them that you need to renew your bridging work permit, an extension of nomination will be given to you which will be valid for just 3 months. use that extension of normation certificate and apply for another bridging work permit same way you applied for the initial one that is due to expire.

Renew your work permit using a 204(c) Letter of Support issued by the AINP at the time of nomination. AINP nominees may be issued a 204(c) Letter of Support at the time of nomination if they have a current, valid work permit that expires within 6 months of the date of AINP nomination. They must also have a genuine Alberta full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a genuine Alberta employer and be making a wage that is competitive to attract Canadians.

If you did not receive a 204(c) Letter of Support at the time of nomination but you now require one to renew your work permit and the other options listed above are not available to you, contact the AINP. The AINP will review your request and determine if a letter can be issued. Your email must include the following:

• Your full name and your AINP File Number
• An attached scanned copy of a request that IRCC has sent you asking for a 204(c) Letter (if applicable)
• An attached scanned copy of proof that you have submitted an application for permanent residence to IRCC (proof of payment, copy of courier slip)
• An attached scanned copy of your current job offer (must indicate your current job title, salary, as well as the name and contact information of your current Alberta employer)
• An attached scanned copy of your work permit you have right now or other status document

The AINP will only issue one letter of support per nominee, either at the time of nomination or post-nomination as per the information above. If you receive a written request from IRCC for a 204(c) Letter of Support, AINP will attempt to respond to your request by the deadline provided by IRCC. It will take 30 – 45 days to respond to your request for a 204(c) letter of support.

Make sure that when you apply for a new work permit using your 204(c) Letter of Support that you:

• Include a copy of your AINP nomination and your 204(c) Letter of Support.
• Include a copy of your Acknowledgement of Receipt from IRCC with your IRCC file number, if your AINP nomination is no longer valid when you apply
• Ensure your Alberta employer has paid the employer compliance fee of $230 and has submitted an offer of employment through the Employer Portal.

More information on applying to IRCC to renew a work permit with a 204(c) Letter of Support can be found on the IRCC website. Click on “foreign workers nominated by a province or territory”.

The AINP is temporarily issuing 204(c) Letters of Support due to delays in IRCC issuing Acknowledgement of Receipts and longer than usual AINP processing times. Not all AINP nominees will receive a 204(c) Letter of Support and the AINP may stop issuing these letters at any time.

For this, I need to apply for AINP for 204C letter or extension of nominatin. I asked the same question to ainp but i got 2 answers. One officer told me that I do not need any letter 204c for applying bowp extension. Other office told that if CIC gives a request for 204c I can apply for ainp for the extension of nomination and i apply for bowp extension by applying. but I dont have any message of request from cic for 204c letter. Could you explain me any details?. I didn't get any info regarding the validity of ainp certificate for bowp or extension of work permit in cic website. Whcih one applies to my case. I have to be clear in doing what?.
