Hi everyone,
I am from France and I applied for the Experience Internationale Canada (EIC) on March 2017.
I received a positive answer on May 2017 so I have a AVE valid until 2022 but my work permit is valid until May 2018 so I have to go on the Canadian territory before May.
I have payed the fees for this.

Actually I can not go in Canada before next September so my question is this one :

Is it possible to ask to the Canadian government for an extension of this Work permit ?
or do I have to ask for a refund and apply again ?
It will be really easier for me to have an extension.

Thank you for your help !

Hi

You will not be granted an extension.

As you have been approved, you cannot get a refund and this counts as a participation even if you don't use it.

Oh ok i see. Thank you for your reply.
So could I ask for another work permit ?
as I already have the AVE to travel to Canada.
Thank you

If you qualify for a different work permit, sure, you can apply. The AVE is simply permission to board a commercial carrier to travel to Canada. It has nothing to do with whether you qualify for a work permit.

No - you cannot apply again for the same work permit. You've used up your one allowed Working Holiday Visa. If you want to participate again, you can do that but only through the Young Professional or Co-op program.

OK thanks again for the informations !
I have a last question,
if I go to Canada before the 15 May (the deadline for the permit) and then come back in France a few days after to go back in Canada later,
like to "activate" the work permit, is that possible ?
thank you !

The work permit will be "activated" on your first entry. If you have a one year permit and you go to Canada in May 2018 for a few days and then leave, the permit will still only be valid until May 2019.

Oh ok that could be a good solution so...
As I am French i think it's a 24 months permit but anyway even 12 is enough.
Ok so I have to think about it thank you so much !
