Extension for tourist visa

I am a tourist in Canada, and I need to apply for an extension of my tourist visa as I wish to stay longer with my husband, who is a temporary worker in the country. Our 18-month-old daughter also holds a tourist visa, and I would like to know if she also needs to apply for an extension to remain in Canada, or if, due to her age, she can stay without needing an extension until she turns 5.

If you are trying to live in Canada you need to apply for an SOWP you are not a genuine visitor and could be denied an extension on those grounds alone. Yes your child needs to apply for an extension of their visitor record.
