Hi guys
I am on a visitor visa, waiting for spousal PR and OWP applications to be processed. My return ticket is in september (which is approximately 6 months of stay), my question is if the airlines don't open by then and I am saying if, what happens to my status in canada and if I get an OWP before that wich I am hoping can I extend my stay based on the OWP.
Thanks in advance !

If you have already submitted the spousal sponsorship application along with the OWP, then you have implied status in Canada and can remain until a decision in your application is made. You don't need to extend your visitor visa.

If you get the OWP, that IS an extension of stay.

Sorry for the late response,
You are saying if I don't get the OWP i have to leave the country in september even if I am still waiting for the PR decision ??
If the OWP is refused after your current status expires, you would have no status in Canada. You could apply for Restoration or remain illegally.

Or if you haven't received the OWP a few weeks before your current status is about to expire, you could apply for a visitor extension at that point, which will maintain your status even if the OWP is refused.

And if I get the OWP could I stay until the PR decision is made or is there a timeframe for that ? I applied in late march this year still haven't heard anything, the only info I have is that the mail was delivered by canada post, it sucks that I have to wonder if they actually got it because I have no confiramtion.
Thanks for the help

If you get the OWP, you can stay until it expires. It is generally valid for a few years, so the PR app should be long done by then.

Did you not pay for tracking?

First time I hear about that, was I supposed to pay something so I could track my application? I thought I was waiting for an email from them so I can link my application to my online profile. Am I missing something ?

Oh that sorry.I actually don't remember but I did have a tracking number and it got delivered in two days, it says delivered to Mississauga ON but I can't see which adress exactly. That is why I am worried because I don't have the confirmation that it is in their office. I know they won't start processing it yet but I would like to know that it is in the right place and not lost somewhere. Is that my only option to be patient and wait ( for the AOR ?? ) or I could contact them somehow just to see if they got the mail ?
Thanks again for your help

If you know it go to the address you specified I wouldn’t worry too much. It should be there. No you can’t usually find out if it has been received if you sent your application in March. It is likely sitting in a pile that hasn’t been opened yet. If you had sent it in February there may be a chance to see it in the system,
