Extending Work Permit

Hello,

I have a question about spousal work permit. My spouse has a work permit that, like my study permit, finishes on August 31st 2015.
She has received an offer to work for a company under a 1 year contract.

Can she be hired for the position?
My question is, given that her permit is an open spousal work permit, can she extend her permit if she is accepted for the job independently from me?

She can extend it with an approved LMIA from her employer.
