I have three questions re: my status and my wife's. I've been on a work permit and my wife on an open work permit in Alberta.
I was just able to barely apply for extension of my work permit (2 days before the expiration of the old one) in May with the same employer.
1. I applied for work permit without my employer getting an LMO. We had been waiting for the new LMO, but it was taking much longer than expected. So, I did not want to lose my status, and just applied for work permit two days prior to the expiration. Is this okay?
2. More basically, is LMO even needed for my extension of work permit?
3. My wife is in a better job position to apply for a PR. Does she have to switch to a regular work permit herself? or Can she apply for a PR directly from her open work permit status?
