I applied for a sponsorship to get a permanent resident status for my wife on March 2010. I am a Canadian citizen, and my wife came to Canada with a working holiday visa from Korea.
Her work permit is valid until November 2010, and it looks like the PR application won't be processed by that time.
So we're trying to get her visa extended, and we have several questions on this.
1. Does she have to have a job at the time of applying for the visa extension? Her work permit case type is 20, and it is for open employer.
2. Does she need Labour Market Opinion even though she works part time at a restaurant?
3. What are the conditions for her to be eligible to extend work permit?
4. If she is not eligible, is there any other way to maintain her temporary resident status (eg. change to visitor visa) ?
