Extending work permit while in Canada

Hi everyone,

I have been in Canada since September on a work permit (Working holiday). From September - March I worked at poone small company and then got a new job in the beginning of March in a very large, international company. My work permit expires in the end of August. Which way I should go to in order to extend my permit? I was trying to research about LMO but the whole information was focused on people who want to immigrate to Canada from elsewhere not for people who are already in Canada working.
Any advice would be very helpful.

1. It is the exact same. Your employer has to apply for a LMO after advertising on the job bank for 2 weeks, and then apply for the LMO and demonstrate why no Canadians/PR were available for the job and that the wages were average or above for the position. If they get a positive LMO, then you can apply for a work permit.

Thanks. I still don't understand one thing though. I am working there already, the job position is filled (got my offer like a month ago), so how does the sentence "after advertising on the job bank for 2 weeks" make sense in my situation? Wage is above average and I have special language skills that made me a "unique" candidate, so I think that should be fine. Is there any form I could print out and bring to my HR department to make it less complicated for them or not really? Thanks a lot.

Because you are working on IEC (WHV) where the employer doesn't have to offer the job to a Canadian or PR first. If you want to work on a regular TWP then the job has to be advertised and the employer has to demonstrate that there are no Canadians/PRs available. The idea is protect jobs for Canadians and PRs.

If you want to provide your employer with information about LMOs you can send them the following link:
