Extending Work Permit and renewing passport

Just wondering if anyone can offer me advice, I was looking at extending my working holiday permit when it runs out for another year or so but will need to renew my passport to do this...does this make the visa invalid and will I have to apply for a new type of visa or can this be changed over to the new passport...any advice on what the next step would be would be greatly appreciated (this is for an Australian Citizen also)

i am not sure about what kind of permit is it. however, i know for sure, if you have your visa on old passport and you get a new one just to have an extended expiration date for the passport, you would have to take both passports when you travel.
